Verified ReviewerNot happy with the installation
my dad was sold a safe step walk in tub for a bathroom that is way to small for one, he has to use a walker and there is no way he can SAFELY step into the tub. I could barely get into it and I am not disabled.
you almost have to step into the toilet to get in the door of the tub. the salesperson should have known this and have him look at alternatives like a walk in shower where the door isnt in front of the toilet.
- Can not get into the tub safely
Preferred solution: have the tub removed and a walk in shower installed
User's recommendation: talk to someone who actually knows about construction
Unhappy
No Happy Camper Here
I live in Texas . I have been waiting for almost 3 months now for my walk in shower.
I have a 90 year mother that needs my help I've moved her in with me. They finally came out today 09/03/2021 but could not start the job because the original salesperson that came to my house first of June did not measure correctly now it's going to another 8 weeks.
Did not take them long to call me back and tell me it would cost another eight hundred dollars more for their error.
I work on a fix income being retired this didn't set well with me. And the story continues tune in to see how this Ends.

POOR customer service
The salesmen have no knowledge - they should be selling shoes. They do not back up their product. Will not return calls and no one answers or they no longer work there.
VERY dishonest!!!!!
Never been so disappointed - quit trying to rip people off!!!!!
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: DO NOT BUY - POOR SERVICE OR NO SERVICE - WORST customer service out there
Failure to Get Satisfactory Response to Problem with Instillation
That fact that all of the occupants in the house are physically challenged, we felt that it would be feasible to get a walk in tub. We contacted Safe Step and on Octoberr 15,2020, Representative John Twist came for an initial inspection.
He assured us that everything was in good order and there would not be a problem with the instillation. He was given a deposit check for 2.500. Approximately two
weeks later, the tub was installed. Before the tub was installed, the installers made a thorough examination of the plumbing.
They did not report any problems and they installed the tub. When we used the tub, we discovered that it took fifty forevers for the water to drain. We reported this problem and a plumber was sent out. He, too concurred that we were not responsible for the problem.
Repeated calls have gone unanswered and when I was able to reach someone, he told me what it would cost and that we would have to pay half of it. I think that that is very unfair being that they were totally responsible for the problem.
If it were any way possible, I would request that they come and remove this tub from my house. I we wee weeks
- Really helps my joints
- Slow draining of water
- Will not answer phone calls

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Non delivery of product-poor customer service
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with discount on future orders. The company reduced the price of the tub by $500 and set up an installation date that was convenient.
They were aware that I filed a BBB, AG complaint and Consumers Affairs. NO apologies, just attitude over the phone, but the work was completed to my satisfaction. Do I recommend the tub?? No, not very big nor comfortable and no splash guards.
Do I recommend the company?
NO, go elsewhere. Customer Service is horrendous..
I ordered a Safestep walk in tub on 2/8/2021, after the deposit was paid the company called me and we scheduled a delivery date of 3/1/2021. The night before I received 2 delivery confirmation date for 3/1/2021 and they wanted to make sure someone was at home to receive it.
I took off work in order to receive it. 3/1/2021 came and I receive a call from the installer that he received the wrong tub. I called the company and spoke to Michelle and James, who informed me that their is nothing on the contract that states they must honor the delivery date and that contractually they do not have to refund the deposit. The customer service is awful.
The reason for the delay is that someone failed to provide a product code, my reply was that they had this order for 1.5 months and now they are telling me that no one noticed there wasnt a product code on this order, then they blamed it on the snow storm they had in Tennessee, my reply was that to a degree I could understand that, but then why was I called to confirm delivery versus someone calling, explaining the situation and requesting a possible reschedule.
The Bottom line is that Safestep walk in tub are only worried about their bottom line and have no concern nor respect for their customers.
I believe that all who have been affected negatively by this company one way or the other should make their complaints go viral.
They need to be reminded that the customers are their bread and butter.
No customers, no pay checks.
Mind you.... I took a day off from work to sit and wait on these ninnies.

Was suppose to get deposit back in 3 days
I had 3 days too cancel my order, I called the next day, I called safe step tub and spoke to Kevin Scott he assured me that my $2000 would be refunded in 2 to 3 days, here it is 2 weeks and I left several messages. And no one has responded.
User's recommendation: Make sure you read the reviews!!
Dangerous tub
Brought 2012 and since then been issues and have life warranty on parts but not labor change $139.00 an hour and services are bad won't help to resolve problems and the company want to deal with you after two years up on labor. Best check other companies that has life time warranty on parts AND LABOR
Preferred solution: Full refund

tub started leaking, called no answer, called next day, was told to clean the tub w/rubbing alcohol, told the rep I was 100% disabled from the Vietnam War, if I got down there was no getting up, wife with broken hip, so here we are. the rep said someone would call, has not happened, bought tub 2011 for 15000.00.
have regretted it everyday since.
Cannot believe Pat Boone would endorse these people. judging by what I have read maybe a class action law suit.
User's recommendation: run from these people, do not buy product
We ordered a walk in shower and it has been over two month. nd we left $900 down payment and nobody seem to give a dam about getting a shower put in. We were told that it would be in by June 10th . C
Nobody seem to give a dam about putting in the walk in shower we ordered. Call 559-203-**** ASPA.
Or I will find someone else. You people do not hole to your word.
I also will call the BBB and let them know to. Karl Ritterbush
Looking to get something repaired on my tub. The "lever:" that keeps the door closed - is not functioning as it should ... it will *barely* cover the plate on the door ... barely...
It is not "what happened", but what will happen. The lever holding the door closed when someone is in the tub - that lever is - for some reason ... just a wee bit over the plate on the door.
I'm desperate to get in touch with Safe Step tubs to see about repair or replacement of the door / latch.
